Job Title: Field Officer

Reports to : Operations Manager/ Human Resources Manager

1. Job Summary

A Field Officer is responsible for performing on-the-ground work for an organization. This includes gathering data, interacting with clients or stakeholders, implementing company projects, and acting as a liaison between the central office and the field. The role requires a high degree of independence, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in diverse and sometimes challenging environments.

2. Core Responsibilities & Duties

  • Data Collection & Reporting: Conduct surveys, inspections, and assessments in the designated area. Accurately collect and record data and submit timely reports to management.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, customers, community leaders, and local partners.

  • Project Implementation: Execute field-level activities and initiatives according to the project plan and organizational guidelines.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or risks, and provide feedback to the management team.

  • Compliance & Verification: Ensure that all field activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and quality standards. Conduct on-site verifications and audits as required.

  • Logistics & Coordination: Manage local logistics for travel, meetings, and distribution of materials within the assigned territory.

  • Problem Resolution: Address and resolve issues, complaints, and inquiries from clients or community members at the field level.

3. General Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: A high school diploma is often the minimum requirement. A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Business, Social Sciences, Agriculture, etc.) is frequently preferred or required.

  • Experience: Previous experience in a field-based role, customer service, or a related area is highly advantageous.

  • Skills:

    • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse populations. Proficiency in local languages is often essential.

    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to build rapport and trust with people from different backgrounds.

    • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage time, tasks, and schedules effectively with minimal supervision.

    • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying and resolving challenges in the field.

    • Tech Savvy: Proficient with mobile devices, tablets, and basic software (e.g., MS Office, data collection apps).

    • Resilience: Ability to work in potentially demanding or remote environments and adapt to changing conditions.

  • Other Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory.

    • Physical fitness to handle the demands of fieldwork.
